Job Opening: Wranglers and Young Farmers Summer Camp Counselor
Muscoot Farm’s summer camps are seeking counselors for the 2017 season. Camp
counselors are needed for the 6-week long Young Farmers camp for grades 1-8, as well
as a week-long Wrangler camp for pre-schoolers.
At Muscoot’s much-loved summer camp, a typical day begins and ends with farm
chores, while the rest of the day is filled with a wide range of hands-on activities from
ponding and hiking to cooking and crafts. We are looking for camp counselors that are
excited about working with children and passionate about connecting them with nature
and farm life. Counselors will be working with small groups of children: 2 counselors
for a group of 12 campers.
Muscoot’s unique setting lends itself to fun and camaraderie between fellow counselors,
staff, and campers. Counselors at Muscoot work together to promote proper animal
etiquette, teach the history of Muscoot Farm, and maintain a safe atmosphere for all
- Applicants must be at least 16 years of age
- Comfortable with physical demands of the position
- Must demonstrate appreciation for animals–from baby chicks to 1000-lb dairy cows
- Enthusiasm for working with children
- Positive attitude
- Must be available 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., June 26 – August 18
