Guided Tours

There are a variety of age-appropriate guided tours of the farm complex led by a Muscoot staff educator for school groups.

Availability
Guided tours are offered in the spring and fall, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Maximum of 30 people including teachers, students and chaperones. Reservations are required and can be made by calling 914-864-7286.

$75 Westchester County Group
$100 Non-Westchester County Group

If I Had A Farm
This program begins with an explanation and interactive activity of what you might find on the farm, such as animals, farmer, equipment, tools and a garden. Then the group is lead through the farm complex focusing on the different elements and animals.

Colors of the Farm
This program is an interactive walk through the farm complex. Using a color ring students will be asked to observe the farm through colors. Students will learn about different pieces of farm equipment, barns and animals.

From Farm to Market
This program begins with an explanation and interactive activity of the different animals kept on the farm and the products they give to the farmer. Then the group is lead through the farm complex to test their new knowledge as well as learn about the products from the animals they did not discuss.

Farming Through the Years
The program begins with an explanation and interactive activity which discusses the history of farming in Westchester County ranging from 1760 to the present day. Students will learn how farming and communities have changes through the years. Then the group is lead through the farm complex to discuss what life was like at Muscoot Farm and learn the significance in some of our historic buildings including the icehouse, milk house, blacksmith shop and barns.
