Traveling Trunks
Traveling Trunks are theme-based bins for teachers to use in the classroom.
These trunks contain hands-on activities, games and educational materials to help students better understand and appreciate Muscoot Farm.
Rental Fee
$25 for two weeks; plus $250 refundable deposit
Teachers are responsible for picking up and returning the trunks to Muscoot Farm.
Poultry Trunk
Designed for use by students in 3rd grade or older. This trunk is a good compliment to the study of
incubation and embryology. This bin contains unique games to teach poultry anatomy, vocabulary and terminology, comb identification
and egg facts, breed posters, field guides, catalogues and a teacher's binder with instructions, student worksheets, answer keys, resources & bibliography
as well as fun poultry paraphernalia. All materials are interactive and most are best utilized by small groups working together.

Farm Products Trunk
This groups of six small bins contains products and representations of goods harvested from farms and is excellent preparation
for the older student's visit to Muscoot Farm. Students will have an opportunity to consider primary and secondary products, as well as
responsible and humane management and utilization of resources generated from living environments with the intervention of human effort.
Consideration is given to : Cow, sheep, goat, poultry, swine, and garden.
This resource is designed to inspire consideration of farm products in our lives and environment, as well as ethical conservaton, use and
management of our harvests. Students will have opportunity to consider unexpected, unfamiliar and different customs. Teachers are provided with
talking points and background information.

agriculture and farming, living environments, consumption, conservation, wants & needs, resource management, impact of human decisions,
respect for differences
