OUR MISSION

The Early Learners Program at Muscoot Farm empowers each child to discover the world around them, appreciate the interconnectedness of all living things, and develop a strong sense of self. Through a team of passionate educators, we aim to create a community where diversity is supported and each child is celebrated. By prioritizing nature-based experiences and play, our goal is to cultivate inquisitive minds, kind hearts, and confident spirits. We hope our program will lead students on a journey of growth, exploration, and skill building that will serve them well beyond their preschool years.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

  • We believe children learn best through play and exploration. Fresh air and access to the outdoors is an important component in developing curious minds, strong bodies, and a lifelong passion for nature.

  • We believe in providing an environment where students feel safe, confident, included, important, and comfortable. Our low class size of two teachers for ten students allows for more one-on-one attention when needed and encourages students to build relationships with others while building important social skills necessary for kindergarten.

  • We believe all children are unique and learn in different ways. Our teachers utilize both structured activities and free play, indoor and outdoor spaces, and lessons that include art, music, baking, gardening, nature, farming, math, science, and more to provide a wide variety of learning moments each day.

WHAT TO SEND WITH YOUR CHILD

  • Please send a healthy snack and a reusable water bottle with your child every day.

  • We will be outside a majority of our morning so appropriate clothing and footwear is a must. Clothing may include a warm coat, rain jacket, gloves, hat, long pants (every day), layers if needed, comfortable socks and boots. Our motto is the dirtier the better so you may want to bring an extra change of clothes and shoes at pick up.

  • Due to the exploration factor of this program, please make sure your child has a comfortable backpack to carry his/her lunch and water bottle.

  • A more detailed list and suggested clothing items will be provided before the start of the program.
